Pre-Purchase Inspection

When purchasing an aircraft it is important for both your piece of mind and your bank account that you have a good understanding of the condition of the aircraft.  A Pre-purchase inspection is designed to examine an aircraft for damage and wear that might not be evident to an untrained eye.  In addition to a physical examination of the aircraft a detailed review of the log books will establish the maintenance history of the aircraft. The overall goal is to establish the current condition of the aircraft as well as to form an educated guess as to anticipated maintenance issues. The amount of time it will take depends on the age and/or complexity of the aircraft and the level of detail the purchaser would like.

It is important to note that many AME’s do not conduct pre-purchase inspections due to liability issues.  Upon request Woychuk’s Aviation Services will provide a written assessment of the condition of the aircraft, however in all cases the final decision to purchase or not rests solely with the purchaser!
